Lynn came to Moore Stephens following the merger with Walkiers & Co. "It became clear during the merger that the values and philosophies of the two practices were a good match: the team spirit, the willingness to help out colleagues, plenty of opportunities for self-development and a good mix of work and fun", she says.
Lynn works as an Audit Officer at Moore Stephens Antwerp office, but she spends most of her time out in the field with clients. "Every client is allocated a fixed audit team, so that we are all aware of the full context for our work. And as an Audit Officer you regularly switch between teams, so that you work with different colleagues."
There's a lot more to our work than auditing. We work in both directions, and think along with the client until we have an accurate idea of what is really going on.
The various activities organised by Moore Stephens facilitate regular contacts with the other departments and offices. "During the residential seminar you get a better insight into the organisation and the work of the different units. You come away with the realisation that there are a lot of other offices and colleagues to work with", says Lynn.
Lynn is currently studying for a registered auditor qualification with the Institute of Registered Auditors, as well as taking other courses offered by Moore Stephens. "There is training available at every level, and management level staff are also allocated a coach. I have found that the courses are tailored to individual requirements, which is a big positive."
