In his job as Senior Business Analytics Architect Timothy gives companies insight into their own data, allowing management to make well-founded decisions when it comes to further growth. ‘What this means in real terms is that I create structure for the client’s data so that a fresh understanding can be created,’ Timothy explains. ‘That data is derived from a wide range of sources – the accounts, planning systems, social media, weather forecasts, GPS tracking systems, you name it. I take much pleasure in working out how all that input can be combined.’
Timothy took the job because the technical and the human aspects merge perfectly in his field. ‘That is especially true in the projects where I am part of the entire Business Process path from start to end – reconnoitring, analyses, creating data flows, reporting and finally the delivery. That puts me in touch with staff throughout the company, from labourers through to the management teams.’
I might spend my days programming, but it’s still a very social career.
The opportunities for career growth and the great workplace atmosphere are the reason that Timothy continues to push the envelope. ‘It’s very interesting to work at element61,’ he says. ‘I am a part of challenging projects and learn a great deal about new technologies. Whenever I need to, I can approach colleagues or even the management team to wrangle over a given issue. That’s not only handy, it’s fun too, just like the joint training courses and events.’
